Project Rescue

We are working with existing patients in the current Rwandan mental health systems whose families are struggling with issues, including emotional, spiritual and financial problems related to the illness or treatment of the patient.  Our work provides these families with support, love and respect while providing the following services:

•Family counseling

• Possible expert referrals for proper treatment and diagnosis

• Spiritual guidance and encouragement

• Financial support for patient’s medication and treatment billing

• Emotional or medical treatments for other family members impacted

• Clothing or personal items to be provided for patients and family members


Emotional Support

Supporting patients and their families by providing a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and resources to help with specific family problems

Financial Services

Enabling patients to pay for psychiatric providers, hospital costs and medications

Hands-on care

Providing access to qualified providers for mental, emotional and spiritual needs for all family members

Therapy

Treating the patient and all family members as they struggle to understand and cope with the mental illness in the family and the impacts on each individual
